No, it doesn't need to have Dizzy in it, but it obviously sold more as a result. And it won't be the last time we see the egg-shaped wonder.
Kwik Snax is a sequel of sorts to Dizzy's previous Pac-Man clone Fast Food, in that the object is to clear a screen of items while avoiding enemies. The big difference lies in the way you can interact with the level itself: the blocks which make up most of the level can be pushed around, and the screen wraps around. The only time you can't push a block is if it's blocked by an item or another immovable block, but you can push your enemies - and squish them, too. There are power-ups to collect which do various things such as block the borders of the level, or turn all the blocks into collectable items.

The 128K version is obvious recommended as the intro and music really liven up the experience, but even on the silent 48K version, you'll probably have a good time. It's a classic arcade formula that - to my knowledge - wasn't actually done in an arcade game previously. Definitely worth a look, even today.
