You have to admit that much of the 80s on the home computer scene was filled with games trying out new ideas, and mixing text adventures with graphical menu elements was worth a try for The Wild Bunch, but does it hold up today?
Your character discovers a murder, only to be accused of it himself, so your task is to set out and find the real killer. Set in the Wild West, you have several towns to visit, and a number of options available to you: check out the 'wanted' posters in the sheriff's office; buy supplies in the general store; drink in the saloon, and most importantly, earn money by doing a spot of poker, which is the only way you'll earn the money to do all the other things. Ultimately you hope to encounter and identify the murderer, but actually doing that can be a real challenge.

I'm getting the impression that Stu Campbell's choices have held up a bit better than the readers': this is quite a novel idea for the time, but is a little flawed in that you really just need money to get anything done, and the only way to get it is by playing poker, and that's not exactly an easy task. If money wasn't such an issue, it might be a bit more enjoyable, but although it appears to have a bit of depth for the time, it ultimately doesn't offer much.
